Authentic Halal Vietnamese Food in Jakarta: Must-Try Dishes at Madame Mai
If you are searching for an Authentic Vietnamese food in Jakarta that is both halal and packed with incredible flavors, look no further than Madame Mai. This restaurant offers premium-quality dishes that deliver a true taste of Vietnam. Conveniently located in the WTC Jakarta complex, it has become a popular lunch spot, especially for those working nearby.
I often come here during my office lunch breaks and have tried several dishes that I am excited to share with you!
1. Halal Pho with Premium Broth
Madame Mai's Pho is truly exceptional. You can choose between a refreshing original broth or a spicy option that will excite your taste buds. The premium meat adds a touch of indulgence, and the aromatic broth, filled with traditional spices, feels just as authentic as what you’d find in Vietnam.
When the Pho arrived, the aroma immediately captured my attention. The clear broth was rich and flavorful, giving off the ultimate comfort food vibes. The tender beef slices, fresh herbs, and spring onions brought a vibrant freshness to the dish.
The noodles were perfectly cooked, soaking up all the savory goodness of the broth. With lime, chili, and sauces on the side, you can easily adjust the flavors to suit your taste.
Overall, it’s a hearty and satisfying meal, perfect for anyone who loves authentic Vietnamese food!
2. Banh Mi: Vietnamese-Style French Bread
Beyond Pho, their Banh Mi is a must-try! This crispy baguette is stuffed with a variety of meats or vegetables, delivering a perfect combination of savory and crunchy flavors. Whether you opt for fried meat or a veggie option, every bite is a fresh and flavorful experience.
3. Com Tam: Vietnamese Mixed Rice
The Com Tam here is such a comforting dish. The broken rice is fluffy and well-cooked, with a light touch of green onions on top that makes it feel fresh.
What makes this dish stand out are the side dishes. The grilled meat is tender and full of flavor, while the egg cake is soft and savory, adding a nice balance to the plate. The pickled vegetables and cucumber slices are a refreshing touch, and the dipping sauce brings everything together with its sweet and tangy kick.
It’s a simple yet satisfying meal that feels like a warm hug in every bite—perfect if you’re craving something hearty and authentic.
4. Spring Rolls and Hu Tieu
For something light and refreshing, try their Spring Rolls, packed with fresh vegetables and crispy meats. Don’t miss out on Hu Tieu, stir-fried flat rice noodles bursting with tantalizing flavors that will leave you hooked.
5. Goi Salad and Skewer Buffet
While the prices at Madame Mai might be on the higher end, I honestly think it's worth it. For a group of four, we spent about 600K, which seemed fair, especially since most of us went for the premium Pho at around 90K per bowl (excluding tax). We also had their Thai tea, which was spot-on. And perfectly balanced in sweetness and with a nice touch of grass jelly. At 30K per glass, it was a great pairing with the meal.
Madame Mai is more than just a place to grab a bite. It's an experience that transports you straight to Vietnam with every dish. Make sure to come with an appetite because you’ll want to sample as much as you can from their menu!
