Try Mie Koclok Bu Ijah For First Time!

Hello everyone, I'll share a little bit about my new experience. It was my first time eating an authentic dishes from one of my mom's hometown in West Java, Cirebon. It's called Mie Koclok or Shaked Noodle. Mie koclok (shaked), is an Indonesian chicken noodle soup (of course is a local food), a specialty of Cirebon city, West Java. The noodles come with a white-colored extra-thick soup (gravy), made of chicken broth and coconut milk, which is mixed with corn starch.

Actually, the serving of the portion is not that large and you can have it as a light meal. But if you haven't had your lunch you may want to have another plate to served.
Mie Koclok is my family's favorite dish when we are traveling to Cirebon. I thought this food isn't that great because it looks plain but when it's served, I can totally taste that chicken broth mixed in white gravy soup dancing on my tongue. They said the taste is great, the broth, the egg, and the noodle are so tasty and blended well. Mie Koclok is always one of my favorite dishes whenever I travel to my mom's hometown now.

So my mom brought me to one of Mie Koclok hawkers near Parujakan train station. Its located at St.Lawang Gada, Cirebon, West Java. (her favorite place for having a plate of Mie Koclok).

Mie Koclok Bu Ijah opens at 4pm. You can find Mrs. Ijah's wheelbarrow on the side of the main road city (easy to reach), which is located at St. Lawang Gada. I recommend you to come before 7 or 8pm because in the busy hours like 5-6pm it's always crowded and it's fast to be run out.
*Ps: If you're going in a car, kinda hard to find the parking areas because it's located on the side of the main road.

For one portion of Mie Koclok, it costs you around Rp.15,000-, or USD$1, complete with white cabbage, sprouts, and free refill hot tea. You can add on, Emping crackers as ur topping of your Mie Koclok.

They have good service and employees. The picture above shows you some parts of the menu. I couldn't capture all the pages but if you see the price on the sushi and Thai menu sections are pretty cheap. Starting from RM 1.99 - RM 2.99. Obviously, I won't only order 1 - 2 plates of them.
